Today, East Tennessee, and moreover the City of Knoxville celebrates Pride month. Despite the call for the “immediate executions of any LGBTQ+ or supportive individuals who takes part in Pride” in a sermon by the odious Knox County Detective, Rev. Grayson Fritts, pastor of All Scripture Baptist Church in Knoxville, Tennessee this year; the Pride event continues with more support than ever before. This year commemorates 50 Years since the Stonewall Rebellion that took place in New York City on June 28, 1969, which most historians consider to be the birth of the modern LGBTQ+ movement. Fritts’ comments clearly show that we are not where we need to be.
Arbor College | School of Massage openly condemns the call to action by Rev. Fritts and actively supports the celebration of diversity and equality with our students, faculty, alumni, friends, patients, and community. We believe that everyone deserves to be respected and accepted. And has a right to understanding, compassion, and love! Happy Pride Knoxville!
