Massage Therapist

SUMMARY

The massage therapist is responsible for greeting Blackberry Mountain guests in the Spa, making them comfortable, and providing them with 5-star massages and body treatments. The ultimate purpose is to provide relaxation and restoration to our guests. Must work with and aid other team members in spa operations to ensure a 5-star experience for the guest.             

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform all Massage services included within the spa menu at a 5-star level.
Prepare, stock & clean the room and tools necessary for scheduled treatments.
Ensure the treatment room and areas are clean and sanitized using approved sanitizing procedures.
Restock treatment products in treatment rooms and all other areas as needed
Responsible for all side work tasks such as body treatment set up, cleaning & organizing the dispensary & all other areas as needed
Responsible for removing and restocking all linen
Responsible for completing all opening and closing duties
Transport guests if needed
Attend the front desk as needed
Attend all scheduled trainings, meetings & special events hosted by the spa.
Perform all of the body treatments, including technology, once qualified
Must be trained on new procedures, protocols & service standards
Any tasks deemed necessary by the manager to keep the spa clean stocked and operating smoothly.
Ability to sell retail and upgrade services
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

Must have the flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays based on business demands.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

§  None

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

§  Must have TN State License required and required continuing education units

§  550 + hours of instruction required

§  High School Diploma or equivalent required

§  Six months as a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist preferred

§  5-Star luxury spa experience required

LANGUAGE SKILLS

§  Must have excellent verbal communication skills

§  Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

§  Basic knowledge and understanding of math

REASONING ABILITY

§  Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

§  Must be able to be on feet for most of the day

§  Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

§  Must be able to perform multiple services during shift

§  Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely

§  Must be able to perform a minimum of 5 hours of massage per shift without a break

§  Must be able to perform a full eight (8) hour shift of massage body technology

WORK ENVIRONMENT

§  5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain property

§  Must be able to work in a calm, yet fast-paced spa environment
