Massage Therapist

Massage therapists are responsible for greeting Blackberry Mountain guests in the Spa, making them comfortable, and providing them with 5-star massages and body treatments. The ultimate purpose is to provide relaxation and restoration to our guests. Must work with and aid other team members in spa operations to ensure a 5-star experience for the guest.

This position offers an hourly rate of $50–$75, reflective of experience, expertise, and commitment level (part-time or full-time). Compensation also varies based on scope of services provided.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Prepare room and tools necessary for scheduled treatments.
• Ensure treatment room and areas are clean and sanitized using approved sanitizing procedures
• Restock treatment products in treatment rooms and all other areas as needed
• Responsible for removing and restocking all linen.
• Responsible for opening and closing duties
• Transport guests
• Attend the front desk if the coordinator needs to step away briefly
• Perform a variety of massage modalities including deep tissue and hot stone massage
• Perform a variety of body treatments
• Must be trained on new procedures
• Any tasks deemed necessary by the manager to keep the spa clean stocked and operating smoothly.
• Ability to sell retail
• Must be able to perform a minimum of 5 hours of massage per shift

Must comply with all company policies and procedures.

Regular and consistent attendance is required to perform the essential functions of this position.

Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers, and interact with our guests.

Must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• None

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

• Must have TN State License required and required continuing education units
• 550 + hours of instruction required
• Six months as a practicing Licensed Massage Therapist preferred

LANGUAGE SKILLS

• Must have excellent verbal communication skills
• Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers, and team members

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Basic knowledge and understanding of math

REASONING ABILITY

• Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to be on feet for most of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Must be able to perform multiple services during shift
• Must be able to operate a company vehicle or golf cart safely

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• 5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain property
• Must be able to work in a calm and quiet spa setting
