SUMMARY
Looking for a Message Therapist with a passion for taking care of others and providing a restorative and relaxing experience for our guests. This role will perform several different types of messages and body treatments that deliver on our promise of Legendary Hospitality. The perfect candidate is a team player with a heart for learning and a desire to serve others.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Prepare room and tools necessary for scheduled treatments
Ensure treatment room and areas are clean and sanitized using approved sanitizing procedures
Restock treatment products in treatment areas
Remove soiled laundry
Bring in clean laundry
Assist in opening and closing duties
Transport guests
Attend the front desk if the coordinator needs to briefly step away
Perform a variety of massage modalities including deep tissue and hot stone massage
Perform variety of body treatments
Willingness to receive training on new procedures
Any tasks deemed necessary by manager to keep spa clean, stocked, and operating smoothly
Must comply with all company policies and procedures.
To perform the essential functions of this position regular and consistent attendance in required.
Must be able to work well with other Team Members, Managers and interact with our guests.
Must have the flexibility to work nights and weekends.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
None
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have TN State License required and required continuing education units
550 + hours of education required
Strong fundamental understanding of anatomy and physiology.
Proficient with Swedish massage and additional continued education in Deep Tissue and Prenatal Massage
Certification in Reiki, Thai Massage, Oncology/Medical Massage, and Sports is a plus
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must have excellent verbal communication skills
Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, managers and team members
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic math skills
REASONING ABILITY
Must be able to exercise judgment and make decisions based on job knowledge and awareness of company goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to be on feet for most of the day
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs
Must be able to perform multiple services during shift
Must be able to safely operate a company vehicle or golf cart
WORK ENVIRONMENT
5,200 acres of Blackberry Mountain property
Must be able to work in a calm and quiet spa setting
