Get The Most From Your Massage

HOW TO GET THE MOST FROM YOUR MASSAGE

Preparing for Your Massage Session

  • Be Open and Receptive: Embrace the massage process with an open mind to maximize its benefits.
  • Timing Your Meals: Avoid eating just before your session. Allow your body time to digest.
  • Punctuality: Arrive on time. Rushing can make it harder to relax.
  • Comfortable Attire: Remove only as much clothing as you feel comfortable. Note that undergarments might interfere with work on your lower back and hips. Your student massage therapist will respect your comfort level.

Communication is Key

  • Health Information: Provide accurate health details and share your expectations and reasons for the massage.
  • Allergies: Inform your therapist about any allergies to oils or lotions so they can use suitable alternatives.
  • Music: Music will be played during your session. While the therapist cannot change the track, they can adjust the volume.

During Your Session

  • Talking: Feel free to talk or remain silent during your massage. This is your time.
  • Discomfort: Report any discomfort immediately, whether from the massage or environmental factors like room temperature, music volume, or lighting.
  • Feedback: Communicate your preferences regarding pressure, speed, and other aspects of the massage. If anything feels improper, you have the right to ask the therapist to stop or even end the session.
  • Concerns: Discuss any apprehensions or concerns. Your comfort is paramount, and your student massage therapist is dedicated to helping you feel at ease.
  • Breathing: Remember to breathe normally. Breathing helps facilitate relaxation, especially if you feel anxious or a sensitive area is being massaged.

Privacy and Modesty

  • Undressing: The therapist will provide privacy while you undress. A sheet or towel will be used for draping, ensuring only the area being massaged is uncovered. Your modesty will be respected at all times.
  • Post-Massage: After the session, you will have privacy to dress.
